Safety First
Above all, your seating system must be safe and robust. Not only that, it has to feel safe and robust too. Nobody wants to climb a wobbly flight of stairs or sit in a shaky chair however many safety certificates it has. In an arena where the audience is likely to be jumping out of their seats once or twice in a match, a sturdy plastic chair is a great option. Moulded plastic seats in particular are ideal as they have no moving parts and are less likely to get broken or damaged in the excitement of the home team scoring a goal.
Ready for all Weather
The number one point to remember about outdoor venues is that they are subjected to all sorts of weather. Even if they are partially covered by a roof or canopy, rain and snow can reach the seating on a wet day and gather on the chairs. Look for plastic seats which have been designed to avoid rainwater pooling in them, so that your customers always have somewhere dry to sit, even on the worst of days. Rain is not the only concern though. Strong sunlight can warp and bleach wooden seating causing cracking and splinters. A plastic seat is built to withstand extremes of temperature while requiring minimal maintenance.
No Need to Fold
If you are using retractable bleachers, to maximise the flexibility of your stadium space or allow for multipurpose use, then make sure that the height of your seat backs allow the bleachers to be closed and moved without having to fold the seats down. If you don’t have to fold your seats manually, you can change the configuration of your stand much more quickly
Meeting Budget Constraints
It is likely that your new seating system has to meet a tight budget. Moulded plastic seats meet the specification of clean, long lasting, hardwearing chairs that are more comfortable that bleachers without seats, but at an affordable price.
Team Colors
Plastic seats can be made in a range of colors so that you can choose seating that blends in with the environment, represents your team or gives a specific impression when viewed from a distance.
International Compliance
Check that your seating complies with the rigorous standards of international sporting bodies like UEFA and FIFA. Even if your team does not compete at these levels right now, you don’t want to limit their opportunities in the future!
